Hi, I’m Vanessa! Welcome to Sunflower and Sunshine! Releasing this blog has been one wrought with tears, commitment, sacrifice and exuberant joy! My sister Michelle and I are excited we were given this opportunity to be used by the Lord and share our very personal journey with you! I am happily married to my high school sweetheart, David and we share 3 wonderful kids together. My oldest son is an adult now. My middle daughter is in middle school and my youngest daughter is in elementary school. We are a very tight-knit family, and love to vacation and just spend time together. I am blessed to be able to stay home with my kids and it’s a gift I don’t take lightly. I am California-bred and love the freedoms we have in this Country. I have been a member of my home Church for almost 20 years and actively serve and lead in our Women’s Ministry for over 10 years now. I knew the Lord impressed on my heart long ago that I would be doing something to reach this generation, but I had no idea what. My heart has always been to serve Him and be open, ready and willing for whatever He had for me. I had no idea my calling would not only be to work with and co-manage a blog with my sister, but walk this journey of covenant together as we grow and learn a new way of life, the way of life God is restoring back! Our hope is that you learn about covenant in a whole new way and become all God has called you to be!
Welcome to Sunflower and Sunshine! My name is Michelle and my sister, Vanessa and I get to open the door to our lives and share our walk through covenant friendship with you! I am happily married to my Prince Charming, Scott, who manages his own business as a Graphic Designer. We have three young children who keep us busy, two girls ages 10 and 14, and our youngest son is 8. I was born and raised in Southern California and graduated from California State University, San Bernardino with a B.A. in Communications with a concentration in Mass Media, which led me to a career as a coordinator/associate producer with KABC-TV, Channel 7 News. From there, I went on to manage National Corporate and Consumer Media Relations Accounts and finally made the drastic change to stay-at-home-mom, where I work harder than I ever did at a job! I still freelance in Media/Public Relations, as well as co-manage this blog with my sister. My passion has always been to fulfill the plans the Lord had for me and tying that in with my passion for writing and the opportunity to work with my sister, this was a win-win! Through our journey, we hope you will be enlightened, encouraged and motivated to seek the Lord in expanding the parameters of your heart and learning God’s truth about relationships, in contrast to what we have been conditioned to believe from the world!
